Nancy Emiline Gibson

Nancy Jackson Gibson, born Nancy Emiline Hopkins January 14, 1937, in Capels, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025 in South Lyon, Michigan, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to her family

Twice widowed, Nancy endured more than most. She will be remembered for her resilience, strong-will, and unvarnished candor. 

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. William Daniel and Sarah Hopkins; her first husband, Jay Fred Jackson Jr.; her second husband, Cecil Charles Gibson; her sisters Norma, Francis, and Donnie; and her daughter-in-law Paula.    

Nancy is survived by her children, Steven Kelly Jackson, James Randall Jackson, and Nancy Jeaneatte Brock (Bobby); her grandchildren, Kelly (Denis), Karen (James), Kristopher, Gage, Madison, and Hannah; and her great-grandchildren, Alexander and Benjamin. 

A celebration of life will be held on May 30, 2026, in Howell, Michigan. Nancy was cremated and will be laid to rest beside her husband Cecil at Woodmere Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan in a private ceremony on June 12, 2026.
