Her Legacy… Nancy Joyce Knez, 82, passed away from Alzheimer’s on May 21, 2023.  She was born on July 2, 1940, in St. Louis, Missouri to Olin Kelley and Norma (Hugo) Kelley. After a short courtship, Nancy married the love of her life, Robert Knez, on June 25, 1960, in Joliet, Illinois. Nancy was born in St. Louis, but as a child she grew up in California, on a farm in Iowa, and Illinois. She went to a 1 room schoolhouse with only 14 other students. Nancy had many different jobs throughout the years, including key punch operator, real estate agent, jeweler, and travel agent. Nancy loved to travel, play tennis and sail. Nancy was an amazing wife and mother. She never had an unkind word and treated everyone equally. Nancy had a beautiful heart and a good sense of humor. Nancy was adored by her family and will be deeply missed.

Her Family… Nancy will be missed by her husband of 62 years, Robert Knez; her children, Steve (Diana) Knez, Jeff (Jackie) Knez; grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael (Ali), Matthew, Michael, Riley, Kailing; great-grandchildren, Cali, Ronin, Michio, Macha, Miso; nieces, Debbie, Sarah, Anne, sisters-in-law, Kathy Kelley, Judy; mother of grandson Mitchell’s children, Abby. She is preceded in death by her parents, Olin and Norma Kelley; grandson Mitchell; and brother Bruce.
