Her Legacy… Nancy Eleanor O’Gorman, 85, passed away February 27, 2023.  She was born on July 8, 1937, to Charles Gorman and Margaret (Marchand) Gorman. She will be remembered as an independent free spirit. She enjoyed nature, especially the beach and was a world traveler.  Nancy loved strong coffee, and always talked about opening up a bookstore café.  Nancy was a nurse at U of M for 12 years and was a devoted caregiver to her patients. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She earned the nickname “Grandma Darling” from her grandchildren, because she called everybody “Darling”. Nancy didn’t like goodbyes, instead she would say “off we go”. Nancy was adored by her family, and will be dearly missed. It’s not goodbye, it’s “off we go”.

Her Family… Nancy will be missed by her children, Monica (Terry McNeil) Becker, Mitchell (Andrea Tomar) Davis, Michael (Lorenda) Davis; sister, Sandra Hodel; grandchildren, Margaret Christine (Jordan) Deisig, Marchand (Jacob) Bauer, Mitchell (Amy) Davis, Chad (Katy) Downing, Ryan (Heidi) Downing, Andrea Bergman, Meghin (Kevin) Skidmore, Larissa Davis, Lance (Kurt Russeau) Davis, Lorraine (Matthew) Hunt, Matthew Davis, Michael (Isabel) Davis, Mekenzie (Caleb Sobie) Davis; 18 great-grandchildren, plus one on the way. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Margaret Gorman; daughter, Margaret Downing; son, David Davis; brothers, Richard Gorman, Al Gorman; and sisters Pauline Ryner; Charlene Hurtubise.

Her Farewell… Nancy’s family and friends will gather for a Mass of Christian Burial,  Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 11:00AM (10AM gathering), at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Pinckney, Michigan.  Father Dan Kogut will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Salvation Army, or PBS.
