His Legacy… Nathan Joseph Preston, 44, passed away July 24, 2025. He was born on August 26, 1980, in Pontiac, Michigan, to Robert and Patricia (LaForge) Preston. Nathan will be remembered as a loyal and sensitive soul who deeply valued connection with others. He had a gift for conversation and could talk with just about anyone, though more often than not, the conversation would circle back to sports. Nathan loved University of Michigan football and basketball, as well as Detroit Lions football, and was a walking encyclopedia of stats and sports trivia.
He cherished his family and was a devoted uncle, forming special, individual bonds with each of his nieces and nephews. Nathan was adored by his family, and he will be greatly missed.
His Family… Nathan will be missed by his mother, Patricia Sherrill; siblings, Dawn (Mike) Arbenowske, Robert (Megan) Preston, and Amy Husted; nieces and nephews, Joey Arbenowske, Evan Arbenowske, Ashton Arbenowske, Jack Arbenowske, Chloe Arbenowske, Hannah Preston, Rachel Preston, Josh Preston, Drew Preston, Summer Husted, and Asher Husted. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Preston II, and stepfather, David Sherrill.
His Farewell… Nathan’s family and friends will gather Monday, July 28, 2025 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. (Rosary at 7:00 PM) His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church, in Brighton Michigan. (Gathering begins at 10:00 AM) Father Jonathan Perrotta will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to Special Days Camp.
