Her Legacy… Patricia Ann Dean, 74, passed away on February 23, 2026.  She was born on March 30, 1951, in Royal Oak, Michigan to John Schalk and Catherine (Reed) Schalk. Patricia married the love of her life, Peter, on October 6, 1979 in Berkley, Michigan. She will be remembered as a woman with a creative spirit who loved her family. Patricia was reserved, opinionated, and strong-willed while also employing a light-hearted sense of humor. She enjoyed a wide range of crafts and could sew up almost anything you asked of her, including clothes and Halloween costumes for her kids. Patricia also loved to bake cookies and keep her family well fed with hearty comfort food. While her girls were growing up, she kept a large vegetable garden to provide for family meals. She also spent considerable time canning and freezing food such as dilly beans, potatoes, and corn, while stocking the shelves with blackberry, mulberry, and strawberry jams among others she’d can for the family to eat throughout the year. Her girls both played instruments and sang while growing up because of Patricia’s love for music. She will be sorely missed.

Her Family… Patricia will be missed by her children, Rebecca (Benjamin) Nichols, and Katie (Jason) Osborn; brother, Ronald Schalk; grandchildren, Mary, Leah, Logan, and Cole. She is preceded in death by her husband Peter; and parents, John and Catherine.

Her Farewell... Patricia's family and friends will gather for a Memorial Service at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 12 at Marr Community Bible Church in Howell.
