Her Legacy… Patricia Ann Buss, 85, passed away March 7, 2026. She was born on November 8, 1940, in St. Louis, Missouri to John Curry Bushart and Lois Faye (Burcham) Bushart. Patricia moved from St. Louis to Union City, Tennessee in 1950 and attended school there. She played basketball throughout high school and was a member of the marching band. She moved to Ypsilanti after high school to care for her mother who had recently had a stroke. Patricia graduated from Ross Business College with a certificate in medical administration and office management. Patricia married the love of her life, Charles Henry Buss, on January 28, 1960, in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Patricia and Charles enjoyed researching family genealogy together. Patricia enjoyed history and was a founding member of Ann Arbor Civil War Roundtable. She was a former vice president of UAW Women’s Committee, Region 1A. Patricia was very outgoing and kind, traits that made her perfect for volunteering for hospice, which she did upon retirement. Patricia was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Her Family… Patricia will be missed by her husband, Charles Buss; her daughter, Deborah Manning; grandchildren, Brian Curry Manning, Zachary James Manning, Jennifer Manning; great-grandchildren, Avery Manning, Madison Manning, Xander Manning; brothers, Mike (Nancy) Potter, Larry (Yong) Potter and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Bushart and Lois Potter; son, Charles Wesley Buss; son-in-law, James Manning Jr.; and numerous other family.
