Patricia A. Chapman of Perry, Michigan, age 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior, on November 11, 2023.  During the days the Lord allotted, Patricia was a loving daughter, faithful wife, and a devoted mother.  She was born on May 31, 1935, in Lansing, Michigan, to Lawrence and Helen Service (Hart), also of Perry, Michigan.  As a member of the high school band, Patricia was often asked to play Taps on the trumpet for military memorials at the cemetery.  She has always been a patriotic American, caring deeply about the direction of our country.  Robert Chapman wed Patricia in March 1962 and celebrated 56 years of marriage before he passed away.  For over 60 years, Patricia was a dedicated and loyal employee of Merten Insurance Agency and Financial Services Center of East Lansing.   Her clients brought her a sense of gratification as she assisted with insurance needs, some of whom she served for three generations of a family.  During a portion of that time, she was the office manager and board member. 

Patricia also traveled abroad to destinations such as Hawaii, Alaska, and Europe.   She attended her childhood church, Perry Church of the Nazarene, for many years, and fulfilled a number of roles such as a member of the missionary council, church board, and Sunday school teacher.  In later years, Patricia also served on the school boards for National Heritage Academies and Livingston Christian Schools.  She enjoyed gardening and encouraging friends and family through acts of kindness. 

 She is survived by her daughter Katherine Chapman; her sister Nancy (Rev. Earl) Hardyman, nieces and nephews Charles Sayles, Diane Sayles, Mark Sayles, Tim Hardyman, Tom Hardyman, and Joyce Ward and their immediate families.   A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 11:00AM at Perry Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Tim Harmon officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to Livingston Christian Schools.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Patricia’s memory would continue her legacy by seeking ways to serve God and care for those around you.   Please leave a message of comfort for Patricia’s family at 1-877-231-7900, or sign his guestbook at www.borekjennings.com.
