Patricia Helen (King) Jean

Patricia Helen Jean, born December 16, 1932 to father, Hilliard King and mother, Esther Helen King (neé Hudtloff) of Detroit MI. Beloved wife of Joseph Raymond Jean Sr. (deceased), their marriage of nearly 70 years was shared with their three children: Esther Helen Bay (Bruce Bay, spouse) of Howell MI, Joseph Raymond Jean Jr of Roscommon MI, and Martin David Jean of Hamden, CT. Patricia is survived by three grandchildren: Andrea Johnson (Lane Johnson spouse), Amy Spalding (Wade Spalding spouse) of Fowlerville MI, and Christopher Jean of Howell MI. Further, there are six great grandchildren (Andrew, Luke and Abigail Spalding and Grace, Joseph, and Jonathon Shea) of Fowlerville MI. Two additional great grandchildren were recently added to her family (Clara and Quinn Johnson) also from Fowlerville MI.

Patricia will be remembered for her steadfast Lutheran-based faith, her devotion to the well-being of her only spouse, Joseph Sr, love of church music, and contagious smile. While simultaneously stubborn and generous, opinionated and empathetic, she always lit up a room with her lively chatter and radiant smile. Her gifts were many but importantly she was the prevailing “prayer warrior” of the family, as well as master baker and iron skillet chef. In her later years, her Cambrian and Promedica family provided her with a support system that enabled her desires to be physically active, well-rested and well-nourished.

Patricia’s Community Farewell will take place Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 11:00AM (10AM gathering), at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 7701 M-36, Hamburg, MI. Pastor Baseley will serve as celebrant. Patricia will be laid to rest beside her husband Joseph, at Great Lakes National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Lutheran Child & Family Services of Michigan.
