Patricia "Patsy" McGuire-Haggerty Dible
July 12, 1945 – March 28, 2025
Her Legacy… Patricia "Patsy" McGuire-Haggerty Dible, of Pinckney, MI, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 28, 2025. Born on July 12, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, to Robert and Catherine (McGuire) Haggerty, Patsy grew up with a strong sense of family, tradition, faith, and Irish pride.
Patsy was a proud graduate of St. Theresa High School in Detroit. She married the love of her life, Rick Dible, in Detroit, on June 16, 1967. Together, they raised their family in Pinckney. Patsy worked at John Hancock in Detroit before joining the local Chrysler dealership in Pinckney and later the University of Michigan as a unit clerk. However, her greatest joy was always her family, her heritage, and the community she cherished.
A devout Catholic, Patsy’s faith was the foundation of her life, providing strength through times of joy and hardship. She instilled in her family the values of love, kindness, and service to others. Her commitment to faith and education led her to establish the Rick Dible Scholarship Fund, helping families afford tuition for St. Mary students.
Her love for Ireland was well known. She founded the Pinckney St. Patrick's Day Parade, a tradition that brought people together to celebrate the culture she held dear. Whether attending Mass, praying the Rosary, cheering for her favorite sports teams, or spending time with her grandchildren, Patsy embraced life with warmth and enthusiasm.
Her Family… Patsy is survived by her children, Bill Dible, Sue Dible, Karen (Brian) Haeussler, Kerry (Jonathan) White, and Megan (Tommy) Mikowski; grandchildren, Kelsey, Kameron, Mitchell, Logan, Brandon (Kirsten), Laura, Hillary, Alana, Luke, Sean, Teresa, and Joseph; great-granddaughter Mae; and siblings, Tom Haggerty and Mary Ann (Jose) Norris Obial. She is also lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. She is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Rick; her parents; her sisters, Cathie Carruthers and Peggy Dooley; and her in-laws, Bob Norris, Don Carruthers, and Margaret Haggerty. Patsy’s warmth, humor, joy and devotion to faith, family, and community will never be forgotten. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Her Farewell… A visitation will be held on Tuesday April 1, 2025 at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel, from 4:00PM-8:00PM (7PM Rosary), followed by a time of sharing. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Parish (Village Campus) in Dexter on April 2, 2025, at 11:00AM (10AM gathering) where loved ones will gather to celebrate her life. Fr. Brendan Walsh will serve as presider. In true Patsy fashion, may we all raise a glass, share a story, and keep her spirit alive.
Sláinte and God bless, Patsy.
