Gobeille, Paul
Brighton, MI
His Legacy… Paul Jeffrey Gobeille, 68, passed away April 14, 2026. He was born on April 20, 1957, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to William Gobeille and Catherine (O’Leary) Gobeille. Paul married the love of his life, Debra Yennior on May 11, 1995, in Novi, Michigan.
Paul lived with a generous spirit that was felt by everyone who knew him. He had a rare gift for making people feel at ease—no one stayed a stranger for long, and time spent with Paul often felt like time with a lifelong friend. He loved bringing people together, whether hosting at home or out on the water, creating an atmosphere where everyone felt welcome, comfortable, and part of the family.
A lifelong connection to the outdoors shaped much of Paul’s life. Having grown up around boats and water, he found his greatest joy exploring Lake Michigan, especially with his wife and two daughters, who meant more to him than anything. It didn’t matter if he was the one driving the boat or the first one to jump in, he was happiest on the water, sharing those moments with the people he loved. In the winter months, he carried that same passion to the slopes. A dedicated downhill skier from a young age, he
competed on the ski team and traveled widely in pursuit of the sport, even heliskiing in more adventurous settings.
Paul also had a deep love for dogs, especially his golden retrievers, who were constant companions in his life. He was an exceptional trainer, known for having remarkably well-behaved water dogs who went everywhere with him and were a reflection of his patience and care.
Music was a steady presence in Paul’s life. He was almost always listening—often with the volume turned up—finding energy, comfort, and joy in every note.
Above all, Paul will be remembered for the way he made people feel: valued, included, and cared for. He was deeply loved by his family and friends, and his absence will be felt profoundly.
His Family… Paul will be missed by his wife, Debra Gobeille; his children, Erin (Ryan) Gobeille, Cassidy Gobeille; siblings, Nancy Heinonen, Bette Diem, Richard (Nancy) Gobeille; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Catherine Gobeille; brother, Bill Gobeille; and brother-in-law, Don Heinonen.
His Farewell…Paul’s family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life at a later date to be determined. In honor of a life filled with curiosity, joy, and a deep love of music, we invite you to consider supporting Radio Paradise — a listener-funded station that meant so much to him. Paul found endless happiness in its thoughtfully curated mix of songs, always eager to share new discoveries and spark that same excitement in others. Even in his final days, its music was a constant companion.
