Paul Julius Lachmann

His Legacy… Paul Julius Lachmann, (P.J.) age 84, entered his eternal home to be with Jesus on November 21, 2022. He was born on February 6, 1938, on the family farm in Conklin, MI to Philip and Mabel (Otterbein) Lachmann. Paul grew up in Coopersville, MI and was the youngest of eight children. Paul graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Music Education. He served in the U.S. Navy, then pursued a career with General Motors until his retirement. Even after his retirement, he continued to work as a substitute teacher, fulfilling his desire to positively influence the lives of children. Paul enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and gardening. His greatest passion was music, mostly piano and trombone. Singing in the church choir brought him much joy. He was persistent and dedicated to getting his family to church each Sunday, as Paul’s Christian faith was the foundation of his life. He cherished his years spent in the U.P. of Michigan living in the home he built in the woods. He will be remembered as a humble, patient, calm, and loving father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. Paul will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

His Family… Paul leaves behind his daughters, Michelle, (Don Jr.), Marlene, (Mark), Mary, (Mark), Amanda, (Jim); their mother, Dorothy House; grandchildren, Elise, Emily, Briana (Sam), Don, Parker; and great grandchildren, Topanga, Madelyn, and Sam Jr. He is also survived by siblings, Kenneth and Marcia. He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Doris, Wilma, Gordon, Myrna, and Philip.

His Farewell… Paul’s Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 28, 2022 at 1PM at Heart of the Shepherd Lutheran Church in Howell, MI with a gathering beginning at 11AM until the time of service. He will be laid to rest at Glen Eden Lutheran Memorial Park in Livonia, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to Heart of the Shepherd Lutheran Church in Howell, MI. https://www.hotshepherd.org.
