Philip Lundy Sr. Obituary

Lundy Sr., Philip

Whitmore Lake, MI

His Legacy… Philip Allen Lundy Sr., 87, passed away April 14, 2024.  He was born on August 9, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois to Helen Nugent. Philip married the love of his life, Sharlene Nagy, on February 15, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois. Philip loved all things to do with planes, trains and autos, a love that was instilled by his Uncle Bill Nugent. In his youth he worked at The Rock Island Railroad. From there he went on to be a sales engineer, working for American Motors Co., Federal Mogul, Gray Marine, and Bricklin Motors throughout his career. Philip enjoyed building models and was a member of the Ford Mercury Restorer’s Club. He liked to meet friends in the Coffee Clutch Group and would attend Motor Musters at Greenfield Village. Philip had a 1940 Oldsmobile that he was very proud of and loved to take his wife Sharlene on drives. He was an avid reader, researcher and founding member of the Yankee Air Museum. Philip was a wonderful family man. He was always present at his grandchildren’s sporting events and when he couldn’t be there in person, he would watch them play online. Philip had a great sense of humor with a big hearty laugh and great dad jokes. Philip was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

His Family… Philip will be missed by his wife Sharlene Lundy; his children, Philip (Roni) Lundy, Laura (Mike) Modjeski; grandchildren, Jordan Modjeski, Griffin Modjeski, and Kathryn (Nathaniel) Johnson. He is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Nugent; sister, Joann Weigle; and his beloved dog, Clyde.

His Farewell… Philip’s family and friends will gather Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 3:00PM-8:00PM, with a 6:00PM Community Farewell, at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel.
