His Legacy… Randy Leland Gilleland, 68, passed away May 6, 2026. He was born on January 27, 1958, in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Leland Gilleland and Myra Gilleland.  Randy married the love of his life, Mary Gaethke on December 17, 1993, on a cruise ship near the Bahamas. Randy spent his career in the automotive industry, retiring from General Motors. He loved all sports and was loyal to his Detroit teams. Randy liked being outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. He did have a special knack for choosing the windiest days to set up camp! Randy loved both Lake Michigan and Lake Superior; he especially enjoyed listening to the crashing of the waves. He enjoyed folk music festivals and riding his electric bike with friends. He was a bit of a “food snob” and liked to joke that he enjoyed the finer things in life. Randy was incredibly loving, friendly and a loyal friend.  If he loved you, he loved you wholeheartedly and unconditionally. Randy was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

His Family… Randy will be missed by his wife, Mary Gilleland; his son, Christopher Padden; grandchildren, Evelyn and Archer; cousin, Don Hollar; and extended family on the West Coast. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Myra Gilleland.
