Raymond Denoyer Obituary

Denoyer, Raymond

Dexter, MI

His Legacy… Raymond Dale Denoyer, 81, passed away January 20, 2023, one day after celebrating his 81st birthday. He was born on January 19, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan to Leo Denoyer and Marian Ruth (Knaggs) Denoyer. Ray grew up on a farm, and had to feed the farm animals and milk the cows every day before and after school. He rode his horse, Lady, from the farm to the one room schoolhouse throughout grade school. In high school he played basketball and baseball. Ray married his beautiful bride, Rita Deighton on November 21, 1964, in Ann Arbor, Michigan after reconnecting with her following high school at a Pittsfield Union Grange square dancing event. After high school Ray joined the Army National Guard and was mobilized to Detroit during the riots. Ray was known as a big jokester. He especially had a fondness for dad jokes and kept his family and friends always laughing. He coached his children’s little league games and loved to cheer on his grandkids at their sporting events. He played cards every day and always won, especially against his wife. Ray enjoyed hunting. His favorite place to hunt was in Montana at his Uncle George’s place. Ray belonged to the Dexter Knights of Columbus, U/A Local 190 Plumbers-Pipefitters, and the American Legion Post 0557. Ray was a joy to know. His family and friends will dearly miss him and his laughter.

His Family… Ray will be missed by his wife, Rita Denoyer; his children, Beth (Eric) Kedroske, Andrew (Joni) Denoyer, Martha (Greg) Brooks, Gregory (Roberta) Denoyer; siblings, Priscilla Sampson, Kathy Densel, David (Bobbie) Denoyer, Mary Denoyer, Mark (Denice) Denoyer; grandchildren, Michael (Nicole) Kedroske, Daniel (Carly) Kedroske, Crystal (Trey) Kedroske, Kyle (Ellen) Thiel, Amber Brooks, Ashley Brooks, Sam Denoyer, Grace (Andrew) Denoyer, Lydia Denoyer, Nolan Denoyer, Wren Denoyer; great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Kennedy, Cora, Valerie, and one on the way any day now. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Marian Ruth Denoyer.
