Raymond “Ray” Fialkowski, age 86 and a life-long resident of Dexter, MI. passed away February 11th, 2022, in Huntsville, NC while visiting Family. Raymond was born to John Fialkowski, Sr., and Wanda (Przbylowski) Fialkowski on July 21st, 1935, in Fraser, MI. He was a 1955 graduate of Dexter High School in Dexter, MI. Upon completion of high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and received an Honorable Discharge in 1960. He met the love of his life, Mary Catherine Kramer while on leave and they were married on July 1st, 1960, in Detroit, MI. Their 60 years of marriage was beautiful to witness and to be a part of. They were blessed with 3 children, Karen, John, and Lisa. Ray retired from MetLife after 35 successful years of selling Insurance and investments. He received several awards and accomplished Presidents and Leader Qualifications. He was a committed member of the St. Joseph’s Parish community in Dexter, MI, and a devout Catholic who could be seen praying the rosary many times a day. He was a member of the American Legion Post 557 in Dexter, MI for 35 years. He enjoyed each morning for the past 30+ years having coffee, sharing laughs and friendship with what they all referred to as “The Meeting.” In attendance were Richard (Dick) Manners, Tom Spiess, Ivan (Sparky) Laraway, Tom Urquhart, Joe (The Pilot) Gwozdek, Dave Steptoe, and Paul Bishop to name a few. He is survived by his sisters; Eleonor (Fialkowski) Geer-Peake and Clara (Fialkowski) Haggerty. He is also survived by his children, Karen Leite (Mark), and John Fialkowski (Lynne), his many grandchildren, Ryan Leite, Rachel Leite, Kristen Fialkowski, John Fialkowski (Rachel), Thomas Fialkowski, Michael Fialkowski (Elizabeth), Alexis Hammett, Emilia Pitre, Sophia Pitre, Tristan Fiore and Azure (Fiore) Wahrlich; his great grandchildren, Eli Fialkowski, Liam Fialkowski and Charlie Fialkowski. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Wanda Fialkowski, his loving wife, Mary and lovely daughter Lisa (Fiore), his siblings John Fialkowski, Jr., Dorothy (Fialkowski) Sitarski, and Theresa (Fialkowski) Assenmacher-Harris. Our family would like to sincerely thank both Ashley Court of Brighton and Grace Hospice of Ann Arbor for their dedication to Ray’s care. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him!
