Her Legacy… Regina Maria Ridley, 104, passed away October 24, 2025. She was born on June 14, 1921, in Holyoke, Massachusetts to Frank Klosek and Julia (Gryczel) Klosek. After graduating high school, Regina enlisted in the Army where she was sent overseas on the Queen Mary and served as a nurse. While serving in Belgium, Regina met Jack Ridley and they were married on May 28, 1945, in Paris, France. Regina and Jack settled in Minnesota where they started their family, and she worked as a nurse at Miller Hospital in St. Paul, later relocating to Michigan for Jack’s job. Regina was an avid golfer and enjoyed swimming and playing dominos and bunko. She traveled extensively visiting Jerusalem, Egypt, Wales, Scotland and many other places. She was inducted into the Brighton Area Women’s History Roll of Honor in 2008. Regina participated in patriotic holiday celebrations and memorials with the VFW. Regina was dearly loved by her family and will be greatly missed.
Her Family… Regina will be missed by her children, Deidre (Mike) Lowry, Donica (James) Evans, Denise (Daniel) Atherton; sister, Sonia “Cookie” Vlahcevic; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Dottie Ridley; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Ridley; parents, Frank and Julia Klosek; sons, Bruce Ridley, Brian Ridley; daughter, Delilah Ridley; 3 sisters; and 1 brother.
