His Legacy… Richard Bernard Barton, 96, passed away November 10, 2019. He was born on April 11, 1923, in Wayne, Michigan to Lawrence and Catherine (Gass) Barton. Richard married the love of his life, Emily M. (Perry) Barton, on December 17, 1954 Richard enjoyed riding his lawn mower, getting in the car and taking road trips. He loved dessert, especially apple pie and candy of any kind. He also liked watching westerns, boxing, and wrestling matches. Richard enjoyed listing to big band music, namely Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. He grew up on a cattle farm and often shared many stories of his childhood. Richard has a big heart for animals, especially dogs. His favorite car was the Kaiser. Richard was known for sharing random facts at a moment’s notice. He reminisced about his brother, Gerald who he dearly missed. Richard will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
His Family… Richard will be missed by his children, Cindy (James) Cooper, Richard (Fran) Barton, Michael Barton, and Deborah Fields; Grandchildren, Alex Fields, and Emily Fields; his special friend, Onalee; many nieces, nephews, brother-in-law’s, and sister-in-law’s; medical care giver, Jackie Gansley for over 5 years; and sitter, Diane Hatfield. His Farewell… Richard’s family and friends will gather 4:00pm-8:00pm Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. His Community Farewell will be held on 11:00am (10:00am Gathering) Thursday, November 14, 2019, at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. Pastor Randy Weaks will serve as celebrant.
