Richard Allen Malkowski

His Legacy…Richard Allen Malkowski, 82, passed away November 11, 2022.  He was born on December 21, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan to Richard Malkowski and Wanda Orlowski.  Rick will be remembered as a very social person of faith who provided a strong foundation for his family.  When his kids were young he began the tradition of yearly trips up to Reed’s Ranch for the Fourth of July and added Spring and Fall golf trips to Crystal Mountain.  Rick loved nature, spending time boating, hunting and fishing with his customers and kids.  In 1978 he started and grew AMS Inc to be a successful manufacturing sales business and enjoyed developing friendships with his customers. Rick had a great sense of humor and people gravitated to him and always enjoyed his company.  After retirement, he dedicated time to do extra special things with his kids, even taking international trips with his daughters. He also dedicated his full heart and attention at St. Joes Catholic Church attending worship, retreats, Bible studies, and serving as a greeter for events. He also volunteered to support many organizations like the Pregnancy Help Clinic, Meals on Wheels, and Hospice among others.

His Family… Rick will be missed by his children, Rick (Jennifer) Malkowski, Richelle (Mark) Renfer, Patricia (John) Maglosky, Christie (Scott) Teffer; brother Brian Malkowski; grandchildren, Brett, Sister Mary Lisa, Jim, Ian, Hope, Joe, Caleb, Ashley, Madison, Taylor, Valerie; great grandchildren, Nico, Ellis, Bailey, Ethan, Macie. He is preceded in death by his parents.

His Farewell… Rick’s family and friends will gather from 4-8 pm (Rosary at 7 pm) on Friday November 18 at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Howell Memorial Chapel. His Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am (gathering at 10 am) on Saturday, November 19 at St. Joe’s Catholic Church in Howell, Michigan. Father Gary Koenigsknecht will serve as Celebrant.
