Miller, Richard
Howell, Michigan
His Legacy… Richard Robert Miller, “Dick”, 90, passed away February 11, 2026. He was born on March 29, 1935, at home in River Rouge, Michigan to Orrin Miller and Bertha (McCormick) Miller. Dick married the love of his life, Delores Saren, on August 4, 1956, in Lincoln Park, Michigan. He will be remembered for his warm sense of humor and playful spirit—a true jokester and lifelong believer in a little harmless shenanigans. Born the 14th of 15 children in a large and loving family, he carried those deep family values with him throughout his life and instilled a sense of fun and togetherness in his own children and grandchildren.
He proudly played football in high school and continued during his four years of service in the United States Navy. An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing and hunting, and he enjoyed many days on the golf course. Dick was devoted member of the Methodist Church for over 23 years, he lived his faith through quiet acts of kindness and steady dedication to those around him. He worked as a truck driver and was a proud member of Teamsters Local 299.
Above all, he was an incredible father and grandfather who was deeply involved in the lives of his grandchildren. He shared his love of woodworking by crafting special birdhouses for each family member, gifts that will be cherished for years to come. Some of the family’s most treasured memories were made during trips up north to the cabin in Cheboygan, Michigan where laughter, stories, and time together meant everything.
A special thank you from his family to his hospice nurse, Jessica and social worker, Angela for such great care of Dick.
His Family… Dick will be missed by his children, Cynthia (Chris) Hodge, Kathleen (Erick) Webb; siblings, brother, Glenn (Carol) Miller; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Meredith), Travis (Jade), Shannon (Phil), Lauren (Collin); great grandchildren, Madeline, Brendan, Isabella, Tyler, Ty Matthew; and many nieces and nephews.
