His Legacy…

Richard “Dick” Calvin Rich, age 92, passed away August 11, 2023. He was born on January 3, 1931 in Milwaukee, WI to Nicholas and Jessie (Sorcinelli) Rich. Dick will be remembered as an entrepreneur, engineer, and world traveler.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dick leaves behind his wife of 20 years, Nancy Carol Rich, and was predeceased by his first wife Mary Joan Rich.  He is survived by ten children; Richard (Judy), Jeannie (Steve) Utash; Sally (Michael), Nancy, Patty (Ed) Allemon, Jeffrey (Miriam), Mary Ellen (Mike) Long, Peggy (Frank) Craven, David (Dianne) and Amy.  He also leaves behind 18 grandchildren.  He is also survived by his sister, Jeanette “Arlene”.

His experiences traveling for business sparked a life-long love of travel. A devout Catholic, Dick traveled overseas to tour historic cathedrals and made pilgrimages to many holy sites in Israel and Europe.  Dick was able to share these travel experiences with his wife Nancy and with many of his children and grandchildren.  Dick was also a passionate photographer and an avid art enthusiast.

Dick’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 1st at 11:00 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 9565 Musch Road, Brighton, Michigan. Fr. John Rocus will serve as celebrant.  There will be a visitation at the church from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.  Dick will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, MI.
