Her Legacy… Richene “Rikki” Lummis, 79, passed away March 17, 2025. She was born on March 20, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio to Richard Ullery and Gene (Summers) Ullery. Rikki married the love of her life, James Lummis, on August 21, 1969, in Trotwood, Ohio. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in business, Rikki worked at Cleary University for many years, filling multiple different roles. She was adventurous in her youth, taking canoe and camping trips with her family; where many wonderful memories were made. Rikki was the matriarch of her family and kept everyone close together. She unwaveringly put others above herself and she never gave up on anyone. Rikki was an incredibly dedicated wife and mother. During the winter months, Rikki and James enjoyed spending time in Marco Island, Florida. Rikki knit beautiful afghans and liked to do crossword puzzles. She was very involved at Shalom Lutheran Church; she was in the bell choir. Rikki was loved by many and had numerous best friends. She was a joy to know and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her Family… Rikki will be missed by her husband, James Lummis; son, Kyle (Melissa) Lummis; sisters, Patty (Don) Oliver, Pam (Bruce) Cunningham, Melanie Ullery; grandchildren, Zackery Lummis, Gabrielle Lummis; and numerous extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Gene Ullery; son, Jason Lummis; and brother, Larry Ullery.
Her Farewell… Rikki’s family and friends will gather Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 11:00AM-12:00PM, at Shalom Lutheran Church, Pinckney, Michigan. Her Community Farewell will follow at 12:00PM. Pastor Vicky Lovell will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
