His Legacy…Robert Curtiss, 74, passed away July 19, 2022. He was born on February 1, 1948, in Oakland, California to Frederick Curtiss and Priscilla (Hanna) Curtiss. Robert married the love of his life, Sharon, on September 27, 1968, at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Warren, Michigan. Robert will be remembered as an optimistic man full of compassion who was invested in friendships and loved his family. He had a deep commitment to give to those in need and embodied empathy in all areas of his life. His girls and grandchildren brought him great joy and pride. He coached his daughter’s softball team, taught his girls how to build things and not to be afraid of tools. He also enjoyed his daughters’ many dogs. Robert’s life was marked by long-term friendships dating back to high school. He worked as a Regional Director and consultant for many nursing homes, bringing compassion and empathy to the elderly. Robert’s competitive nature came out on family night playing euchre. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, skiing, road rallies, bowling, and softball, and he had a jokester vein that kept time together fun and light.
His Family… Robert will be missed by his wife Sharon; his children, Kari (Chuck) Selinger and Kelly Curtiss; grandchildren Braylon and Clayton. He is preceded in death by his parents.
His Farewell… Robert’s family and friends will gather at 11 am on Tuesday, August 16 at Cornerstone Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Brighton with a Community Farewell Service at 12 PM, and a luncheon provided immediately following at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to Heart of Michigan Bernese Mountain Dog Rescue or Lucky Star Cavalier Rescue.
