His Legacy…Robert Dale Bloomquist, 78, passed away December 31, 2024. He was born on June 17, 1946, in Kane Pennsylvania to Paul Bloomquist and Margaret (Nelson) Bloomquist. Bob married the love of his life, Nancy Mull, on November 24, 1972, in Detroit, Michigan. Bob opened Maltby Middle School in Brighton in 1974 and was principal there for many years. He also did financial planning on the side. He loved the outdoors especially fishing, a legacy he passed on to his son and grandson. He loved to travel with his wife, Nancy, visiting Egypt, Italy, Alaska, the wine country of Europe on a riverboat cruise, and two cruises to Southeast Asia and the Panama Canal. Bob and Nancy were Florida snowbirds during the winter and had many close friends there. Bob enjoyed history and visiting historical sites and recorded many memories of all these travels which his loved ones will always cherish. Bob had a wonderful sense of humor and a calming presence. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
His Family… Bob will be missed by his wife, Nancy Bloomquist; his children, Robert (Karrie) Bloomquist Jr., Kari Anne (Carolyn Hymes) Bloomquist; his sister, Bonnie (Kip Kennedy) Schettler; grandchildren, Alison Kate Bloomquist, Robert Bloomquist III; step-grandchildren, Natalie Hymes, and Zach Hymes. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Margaret Bloomquist; and brother, Paul Bloomquist.
His Farewell… Bob’s family and friends will gather on Saturday, February 1st, 2025, from 11:00AM-1:00PM, at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. His Memorial Service will follow at 1:00PM.
