His Legacy… Robert Scott Gilbert, “Bob”, 63, passed away January 11, 2026.  He was born on November 16, 1962, in Detroit, Michigan to Raymond Gilbert and Clara (Green) Gilbert. Bob married the love of his life, Karen Klein, 42 years ago on August 13, 1983, in Brighton, Michigan.  He will be remembered as a loving and devoted family man who was determined, vibrant and outgoing.  Bob had a magnetic personality and could talk to people with ease and had many friends.  He loved spending time outdoors, in the garden or on the golf course. Cooking was his passion as he put the love into every dish he prepared.  Bob was athletic and focused his spare time on training for triathlons. He was an inspiration and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

His Family… Robert will be missed by his wife, Karen Gilbert; his children, Lesley (Eric) Greene, Adam Gilbert, Kelsey (Derek) Kinney; siblings, Karen (Mike) Riley, Cathy (Bob) Leger, Raymond (Cecile) Gilbert; grandchildren Scott, Oliver, Jaxon, Sophia; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Clara Gilbert.

His Farewell… Bob’s family and friends will gather Sunday, January 18, 2026, 2:00-5:00 PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Howell Memorial Chapel in Howell, Michigan, with a Community Farewell service starting at 5:00 PM.
