His Legacy… Robert Bruce MacDonald, 76, passed away March 22, 2025.  He was born on November 10, 1948, in North Chicago, Illinois, at the Great Lakes Naval Station, to Billie MacDonald and Mary (Gilbert) MacDonald. He came from a long line of veterans and moved frequently in his youth, due to his father’s military service. He went to 11 different schools in 12 years, and graduated high school in Cass City, Michigan. Rob married the love of his life, Diane Sabo, on August 23, 1974, in Pinckney, Michigan. Rob was drafted into the U.S. Army during Vietnam where he was a finance technician and CBRN specialist. After fulfilling his duties in the Army, he re-entered the military as an Air National Guard, as a civil engineer. He retired from the military after 26 years of service. Rob spent 38 years with Ford Automotive as a tool & die maker. He was a workaholic and enjoyed fixing things. You could always find him working in his garage, he could build a solution for any problem. Rob loved to make people laugh and could be a real joker. He would do anything for anyone and loved to help people. In his down time, Rob enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Rob was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

His Family… Rob will be missed by his son, Brad (Hannah) MacDonald; siblings, Dennis (Rhonda) MacDonald, Sue (Joe) Kiester; and grandson, Lincoln MacDonald. He is preceded in death by his wife, Diane MacDonald; parents, Billie and Mary MacDonald; and daughter, Robin MacDonald Rogers.

His Farewell… Rob’s family and friends will gather Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 10:00AM-12:00PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. His Community Farewell will follow at 12:00PM. Connor Herter will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to Alzheimer’s Association.
