Robert Tracey Obituary

Tracey, Robert

Pinckney, MI

His Legacy…Robert Lee Tracey, 84, passed away May 3, 2026.  He was born on June 12, 1941, in Alpena, Michigan to William Tracey and Edna (Bauer) Tracey. Robert was raised rurally in Hillman, Michigan, where farming, hunting and fishing were daily activities; igniting a lifelong love of hunting and being outdoors. After meeting at hunting camp, Robert married the love of his life, Marilyn Shirey, on February 24, 1962, in Howell, Michigan and they made their home on Portage Lake. Robert and Marilyn eventually moved to a new home with more room for a garden and small orchard; something they both loved. Robert worked for O’Neill construction in Ann Arbor; eventually moving into a job with Thompson/Shore that showcased his carpentry skills. He retired after 2007 when Marilyn passed, he filled his days working with the local farming community and hunting. Robert could make friends everywhere, connecting with people came very naturally to him.  He was incredibly involved with the Peoples Church and was involved in many leadership teams. His faith was strong and his family takes comfort in knowing that they will meet him again one day in heaven. Until then, he will be incredibly missed by his family and friends.

Robert will be missed by his daughter, Shari (Robert) Orr; grandson, Jackson Orr; sister-in-law, Caroline Tracey; brother-in-law, William (Gloria) Shirey; nieces and nephews, Michael (Delores) Tracey, Jerome (Connie) Tracey, Linda (Scott) Joy, Alan (Sarah) Tracey, Melissa (Delos) Deaver, Matthew (Leslie) Shirey, Sarah (Dan) Hornback, Faith (Jake) Freeland, Hannah (Aaron) Willette; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and close friend and companion, Linda Skrzypek.
