Ronald Erickson

His Legacy…Ronald Udell Erickson, 82, passed away August 28, 2022.  He was born on May 23, 1940, in Clearfield, Pennsylvania to Ernest Erickson and Rugene (Allen) Erickson. Ron married the love of his life, Rita, on June 3, 1967, in Detroit, Michigan.  Ron will be remembered as an easy-going man with a great sense of humor who loved his family.  In addition to his work at General Motors, he spent many years working at Hartland High School as a Girls’ Softball Coach, then worked security, and supported the school’s various sport teams. Ron was also uncommonly good at playing euchre with family, and also friends at the senior center, never wanting to spend a round left out.  His gentle and humble demeanor was balanced by a goofball levity giving him the name “Pappa Silly” to his grandkids and and endearing him to many others. Ron enjoyed the outdoors spending many vacations with his family canoeing, camping and fishing. More than anything, Ron loved his family, his wife, boys, their wives and his grandkids.

His Family… Ronald will be missed by his wife, Rita; his children, Jim (Lisa) Erickson, Rick (Charlene) Erickson, and Jason (Ashley Boyer) Erickson; grandchildren Ashley, Mandi, Christian, Brendan, Jessica, Ben, Aubrey, Cole, Jaisey, Kiya, and, great grandchildren Rylie, Kali, Charlie, Kennedy; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.

His Farewell… Ronald’s family and friends will gather at 10 am on Friday, September 9 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Howell, Michigan. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Friday, September 9 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Father Francis George will serve as Celebrant.
