His Legacy… Ronald “Ron” Albert McGrath, 71, passed away March 30, 2026. He was born on July 9, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan to Albert McGrath and Joyce (Peterson) McGrath. Ron married the love of his life, Annette (Colenso) McGrath, on April 8, 1995, in Milford, Michigan. He will be remembered as a man who loved his wife, family, and God. One of his greatest passions was playing his saxophone. He spent many years as a member of the South Hill Baptist Church (Milford) praise team and continued to serve in the music ministry of subsequent churches over time. A carpenter by trade, he built his own home in Howell, Michigan, with the help of family members and good friends, and resided there for the next 25 years. Ron always had a sense of inner peace and found great joy in fishing and wood carving. Below the surface, however, he was known for being a “mischievous” character (even as an adult!) with a very dry sense of humor that everyone learned to love.
His Family… Ron will be missed by his wife, Annette; his children, Rachael McGrath, Shannon McGrath, Shawn McGrath, Jordan McGrath; his father, Albert (Joann) McGrath; siblings, Donna (James) Whitton, Lynn (Jay) Otlewski, David (Kim) McGrath, Jennifer (Kisha) Brock; ten precious grandchildren, and four beautiful great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother, Joyce McGrath.
His Farewell… Ron’s family and friends will gather on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM at Liberty Baptist Church in Howell, Michigan. His Community Farewell will follow immediately at 12:00PM. Pastor Sean Kennedy will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions to Liberty Baptist Church, Compassion International, or the Michigan Parkinson’s Foundation are welcome.
