His Legacy… Ronald “Ron” William Troyer, 79, passed away January 15, 2026.  He was born on February 21st, 1946, in Flint, Michigan to William Troyer and Ina (Meir) Troyer. After growing up in Mio, Michigan, Ron graduated from both Alpena College and Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering. While attending a church at Michigan State University, Ron met the love of his life, Margaret (Ruggerole) Troyer. Ron and Margaret were married on June 14th, 1969, in Detroit, Michigan. He will be remembered as a generous and patient family-man, who valued faith and family above all else. No matter the occasion, Ron would show up to express his support for his loved ones, and he was always willing to listen – even if he didn’t have anything to add. From blessing his grandchildren to hand-crafting rosaries, his faith was deeply woven into his life. Ron also spent his free time antiquing, working with wood, and refinishing furniture.

His Family… Ron will be missed by his wife, Margaret Troyer; his children, Susanna (Peter) Garlitz and Dr. Sara (Jeff) Troyer-Mazurek; siblings, Gerald Troyer, Nancy Kloack, Roger Troyer, Alice Neubecker, and Richard Troyer; grandchildren, Andrew, Mary, Stephen, Claire, Renee; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Ina Troyer, and his brother-in-law, Roger Kloack.  

His Farewell… Ron’s family and friends will gather Wednesday, January 21st from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home in Howell, Michigan, with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM. Gathering will continue on Thursday, January 22 at 9:30 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Howell, Michigan.
