Sally Caldwell Obituary

Sally Caldwell, 74, passed away June 30, 2025.  She was born on September 12, 1950, in Howell, Michigan, to Arthur and Ida (Smail) Caldwell. A woman of boundless generosity, quiet strength, and unwavering kindness, she leaves behind a legacy of compassion, community service, and cherished memories.

Sally graduated from Brighton High School in 1969. Shortly after, she began a career at General Motors' Milford Proving Ground. She would retire after a dedicated and successful 36-year career. In her role, she took great pride in her work and formed many lifelong friendships. Her true calling was in giving back; she had a heart that always found room for others.

She was a tireless volunteer, particularly with the Relay for Life, where she walked with hope, strength, and love for those affected by cancer. Sally believed in lifting others up, and her involvement in this cause was deeply personal and passionate.

Her love of golf became another way she gave back. She was the driving force behind numerous charity golf fundraisers, bringing people together not only for the joy of the game but for the greater good. Sally's events were filled with laughter, camaraderie, and purpose, raising funds and awareness for causes she held dear.

Known for her generosity, she was always the first to lend a hand, offer a kind word, or quietly make someone's day a little brighter. Whether she was organizing local events or simply showing up when it mattered most, Sally embodied the spirit of love and kindness.

Sally was also a passionate sports fan, especially when it came to her Michigan Wolverines. Fall Saturdays were sacred, many of which were spent tailgating with friends and family decked out in maize and blue. Later in life, she faithfully watched every game from home. She cheered with heart, win or lose, and could always be counted on for a spirited, "Go Blue."

She is survived by her loving siblings, Linda Jackson, Frances Houchard, Art (Lavon) Caldwell, and Walt (Linda) Caldwell, as well as a community of friends, former colleagues, and fellow volunteers who will deeply feel her absence. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Arthur and Ida Caldwell.

The family will be having a private burial at a later date.

Her warmth, humor, and generous spirit will remain with us always. Though she has left this world, her love continues to guide us, steadfast and enduring, just as she was.
