Sally Ann (Hayes) York

Her Legacy… Sally Ann York, age 83, passed away May 3, 2021. She was born on November 23, 1937 in Robinson, IL to Arthur and Louise (Ramsey) Hayes. Sally married the love of her life, Kenneth York, on January 26, 1957 in Detroit, MI. She was highly involved in the community. Sally was the Green Oak Township clerk for many years before working and retiring from the University of Michigan. She helped start a theater group in Green Oak Township. Sally was a lifetime member of the Whitmore Lake Rod and Gun club. She was a Girl Scouts leader. Most of all, Sally loved spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her wealth of knowledge, willingness to help, and as a caregiver to her family and everyone she knew. Sally will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her Family… Sally leaves behind her husband, Ken; children, LeeAnn (Bob) Hubbard, JoLynn (Jerry) Williams, Kenneth “Butch” (Shirley) York II, Troy (Teresa) York; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and many extended grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Sue (Bo) Wolf and Loraine (Mark) Dawkins. Sally is preceded in death by her parents.

Her Farewell… Sally’s Community Farewell will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 1PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel with a gathering beginning at 10AM until the time of service.
