Sandra Ann Lightfoot, 80, passed away September 21, 2022.  She was born on September 16, 1942, in Flint, Michigan to Melvin Michaud and Reva (McDonald) Michaud. Sandra married the love of her life, Gary Lightfoot, on August 22,1964, in East Lansing, Michigan while finishing up their degrees at MSU. She will be remembered as kind, loving, a great listener, and wonderful advice giver. She poured her life into her family, friends, and career. As a nurturing educator for over 30 years in the Okemos, MI school district she touched the lives of hundreds of students. She also enjoyed mentoring the numerous MSU intern/student teachers. In retirement she enjoyed spending time with her six grandchildren, friends, summers at ‘The Lake’ and winters golfing and teaching an exercise class in Florida. Her positive attitude in all she did was contagious and inspiring. She was always happy for every new adventure, yours or hers and would often say “well, these are exciting times!”

Sandra will be greatly missed by her husband, of 58 years, Gary Lightfoot; her Children, Brent (Cate) Lightfoot of Pawleys Island SC, Lynne (Chris) Duda of Northville MI; Sister, Melanie (Steve) Garlinger of Murrells Inlet SC; and Grandchildren, Ryan Duda, Molly Duda, Ian Duda, Quinn Lightfoot, Sloane Lightfoot, Reagan Lightfoot; Nephew, Eric (Angela) Garlinger; Niece, Alison (Zack) Byrd; and Great-Nieces and Nephew. Cecelia, Leo, Payton and Avery. She is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Reva Michaud.
