Her Legacy… Sandra Carol Smigielski, 76, passed away November 5, 2021.  She was born on December 2, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan to John and Veronica (Greever) Westfall. Sandra married the love of her life, Gregory Smigielski, on August 5, 1967, in Detroit, Michigan. She initially worked as an LPN, and later completed her studies at Regents College in New York. She became an RN worked as a nurse all of her adult life. Sandra was passionate about nursing, always reading and researching, even after retirement. For many years, Sandra also was a volunteer nurse, with St. Augustine Catholic Church. Sandra and her husband loved to travel, and had many adventures visiting Hawaii, Cancun, the Bahamas, Vegas and much more. As a devout Catholic, Sandra belonged to several churches over her lifetime, including Our Lady of Sorrows in Farmington, St. Augustine in Howell, and most recently, St. Joseph in Howell. She will be remembered as a caring and warm person who cared about family, and inspired others with her compassion and faith.

Her Family… Sandra will be missed by her husband Gregory Smigielski; her children, John (Lisa) Smigielski, Danielle Smigielski, Michael Smigielski, Timothy Smigielski; sister, Judith DeAngelis; grandchildren, Jack, Benjamin, Josiah; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Veronica Westfall.

Her Farewell… Sandra’s family and friends will gather at 12:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Howell, Michigan until the time of the Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. with Father Gary Koenigsknecht as Presider.
