Her Legacy… Sandra Kay Mills, 81, passed away January 20, 2025. She was born on June 25, 1943, in Scottsburg, Indiana to Clifford and Myrtle (Nicum) Hougland. She will be remembered as a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Sandy lived a simple life in a big way. Her acts of kindness was exuberant in everything she did and everyone she met. She was truly an angel to many. Sandy loved life, from animals to nature but most of all, her family. They were the most important to her in her life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her Family… Sandy will be missed by her children, Scott (Rena’) Mills, Dee (Mike) Solon; siblings, Thelma Michalak, John (Ann) Hougland, Sue (Richard) Quintanilla; grandchildren, Joslyn (Dennis) Mills-Bonal, Jeremy Mills, Wendy (Chris) Carnell, Adam Mills, Cory (Sara) Solon, Ryan (Brittany) Solon; great grandchildren, Harper, Skyler, Avery, Haven, Nellie, Reese, Lucy, Camryn and Aubree; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sister, Zona (Terry) Byrd and her parents, Clifford and Myrtle Hougland.
Her Farewell… Sandy’s family and friends will gather on Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 3:00-6:00pm at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Shelters Chapel in Pinckney, Michigan. Her Community Farewell will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025 at 11:00am (10:00am gathering) at Community Congregational United Church of Christ , 125 E. Unadilla Street, Pinckney, Michigan. Pastor Jacoba Koppert will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Howell Nature Center (howellnaturecenter.org) and the Pinckney Community Public Library PCPL (Pinckneylibrary.org).
