Scott Alden Peterson

His Legacy… Scott Alden Peterson, 56, passed away on November 17, 2025. He was born on February 14, 1969, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to James Peterson and Barbara Dewey. Scott married the love of his life, Terri Benjamin, on August 19, 2000, in Williamston, Michigan. He will be remembered as a loving father and a steady, supportive presence in the lives of those he cared about. Scott was always willing to lend a helping hand, whether you were a close friend or a stranger.  

His competitive spirit showed up in all kinds of ways, from coaching his son’s sports teams to taking on the challenge of multiple marathons and even a 50K. He was also an enthusiastic sports fan, especially when it came to U of M football.  

Scott was kind, funny, and generous. He never missed an opportunity to crack a joke and treasured time spent on many family vacations throughout the years. Above all, he adored his children and supported them wholeheartedly. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.  

His Family… Scott will be missed by his loving wife, Terri Peterson; his children, Trevor Peterson and Paige Peterson; siblings, Matt (Melissa) Peterson and Ted (Renee Donahee) Peterson; and his mother, Barbara Dewey. He is preceded in death by his father, James Peterson; and his grandmother, Margaret Hughes. 

His Farewell… Scott's family and friends will gather Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Homes in Fowlerville, Michigan. His Community Farewell will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at 5:00 PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Homes in Fowlerville, Michigan. Pastor Doug McMunn will serve as celebrant.
