Her Legacy…Sharon Lee Weis, 78, passed away May 12, 2022.  She was born on September 18, 1943, in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Norman Smith and Agnes (Niemi) Smith. Sharon married the love of her life, Dean Weis, in 1963, in Wayne, Michigan. Sharon was an avid reader and absolutely loved books. She enjoyed traveling and reading about where she traveled to. Sharon graduated from Wayne Memorial High School in 1961 and went on to graduate with honors from Washtenaw Community College in 1977. In 1996 she went back to school for a bachelor’s in English, language and literature, at Eastern Michigan. To celebrate her graduation she took a trip to the Holy Land with friends from church, describing it as “the trip of a lifetime”. Sharon was a big Red Wings fan and would get very excited watching the games. She volunteered with Steven Ministries, enjoyed playing Scrabble, and loved being a grandma. Sharon was a joy to know and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her Family… Sharon will be missed by her children, Dean C. Weis III, Laura A. (Fred) Moehrle, Debbie (Billy) Dees; brothers, Al (Dale) Smith, Bill Smith; grandchildren, Michael (Jamie), Ivan (Liz), Nick, Ashleigh, Christian; great grandchildren, Angie, Mikey, Abigail. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dean Weis; parents, Norman and Agnes Smith; and daughter-in-law, Pam Weis.

Her Farewell… Sharon’s family and friends will gather for a Community Farewell,  Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 11:00AM (10AM gathering) at First United Methodist Church, 400 E. Grand River Ave., Brighton, MI. Pastor Jon Reynolds will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to Alzheimer’s Association or American Library Association.
