Her Legacy… Sherry Lynn Mackmiller, 70, passed away February 1, 2023. She was born on February 18, 1952, in Austin, Texas to Raymond Kelling and Lee Ann (Aker) Kelling. Sherry served in the U.S. Navy from 1971-1974 as a hospital corpsman. She was stationed at the Naval Hospital in Long Beach, California. Sherry loved her country and was proud to be a veteran. Sherry was a member of Holy Spirit Church in Brighton. Although she came to the Catholic faith late, she was very strong in her faith. Sherry loved to crochet, and do word searches and crossword puzzles. Her life was all about her family and she especially adored her grandsons. She liked to dance with them and always had time for them. Sherry was deeply loved by her family and will be greatly missed.
Her Family… Sherry will be missed by her daughter, Heather Schumacher; siblings, Laurie Quijada, Franz (Beverly) Kelling, Diane Kelling; grandsons, Scott Schumacher, Wayde Schumacher; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her extended Mackmiller family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Lee Ann Kelling.
Her Farewell… Sherry’s family and friends will gather Thursday, February 9, 2023, from 4:00PM-8:00PM, at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023, 11:00AM (10AM gathering), at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Brighton, Michigan. Father John Rocus will serve as celebrant.
