His Legacy… Stephen Michael Brown, “Mike”, 80, passed away October 31, 2023.  He was born on September 28, 1943, in Wayne, Michigan to Louis Clifford, “Steve”, Brown and Maxine Burger. Mike graduated in 1961 from Wayne Memorial High School. Mike played baseball while attending Eastern Michigan University for his undergraduate work before moving on to earning his Master’s degree from Central Michigan University. He married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Mary, on June 25, 1966 in Westland, Michigan.   Mike will be remembered as a man that was deeply committed to his community and showed this by serving through coaching/refereeing youth sports, was involved with the Jaycees and sitting on the City Council for the City of Wayne for 8 years .  He was a great family man who loved his children but was crazy for his grandchildren.  He loved to travel with Mary in his retirement years and stop at numerous casinos. Mike’s other passions were watching the Lions and Detroit Tigers play ball and golfing.

His Family… Mike will be missed by his loving wife, Mary Brown; his children, Brian Brown, Rick (Laurie) Brown, Beth (Mark) Ward-Brown; siblings, Sharon Popek; grandchildren, Chandler, Stephen, Julianna, Jalen, Karson; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis (Maxine) Brown, Brothers; Curtis Brown, Patrick Brown; sister, Marilyn Brown and granddaughter, Julianna Ward-Brown.

His Farewell… Mike’s family and friends will gather Sunday, November 5, 2023 from 2:00-4:00PM with a Community Farewell service at 4:00PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Howell Memorial Chapel in Howell, Michigan. Doug Mc Munn will serve as Celebrant.
