His Legacy… Steven Charles Poindexter, 42, went home to the Lord at 9:48PM, while in the loving arms of his mother on December 18, 2024. He was born on October 13, 1982, in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Dawn Struppa. Steven was a stocker at Little Porky’s and a pizza maker at Marco’s pizza. He loved his jobs and the people that he worked with. He had a passion for fishing and fished at least once a week with his mom in the summertime. Steven loved bonfires, camping, boating and canoeing. A favorite pastime was going to the casino. Steven loved his community and would take walks where he would stop and talk to everybody. He brought so much joy into so many people’s lives. Steven enjoyed going out for drinks with his pops, Louie, even though he called it “spinning the straw”, because he didn’t drink. He loved animals and had a very giving soul. He loved the Detroit Tigers, Lions football, and also U of M football. Steven had an incredibly close relationship with his mom, they were inseparable and were each other’s biggest supporters. Steven will be deeply missed and always cherished by all who knew and loved him.
His Family… Steven will be missed by his mother, Dawn (Louie) Mignin; sister, Skylar Mignin; grandmother, Charlotte Wertz; grandfather, Andrew Struppa; step-grandfather, John Villegas; step-grandparents, Charlie and Jenny Mignin; uncle, Michael Struppa; aunt, Netty Tresidder; cousins, Mason Struppa, Tyler Struppa; and his beloved pets, Loki and Butterscotch. He is preceded in death by his uncle, Louie Wertz.
