His Legacy… Steven Edward Smith, 62, passed away October 31, 2025. He was born on February 26, 1963, in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Russell Smith and Dolores (Wade) Smith. Steve married the love of his life, Patricia, on December 31, 2003 in the Cayman Islands. He will be remembered as a dedicated entrepreneur, establishing and operating VTEC Graphics, a commercial printing business, for more than 30 years. When he wasn’t working, he loved to adventure outdoors or on the water, go to the movies or restaurants, travel, and take cruises. He was always on the go, but if you’d catch him at home, he was playing guitar or keyboard or he'd be relaxing with a cold Coke and watching TV with his beloved Yorkies.

His Family… Steve will be missed by his wife, Patti Smith; his step-children, Samantha and Patrick Kovarik; mother-in-law Pam Fritsch; siblings, Jeff Smith, Eric (Vanya) Smith, Stacy Smith-Marino; brother-in-law David Fritsch; niece and nephews, Caitlin Marino, Carson Marino, Cody Marino, Cavan Smith, and Branson Smith. He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Dolores Smith, and his brother, David Smith.

His Farewell… Steve’s family and friends will gather 5-8 PM, Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Borek Jennings Funeral Home in Howell, Michigan. His Community Farewell will be held at 5 PM (4-5 PM Gathering) Friday, November 7, 2025 at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Howell, Michigan. Pastor DJ Reed will serve as celebrant.
