Her Legacy… Suzanne Eaton, 85, passed away April 13, 2026. She was born on July 30, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan to James McKendry and Margaret “Peggy” (Shields) McKendry. Suzanne married the love of her life, William Eaton, on May 28, 1960, in Detroit, Michigan. Suzanne was a loving wife, a devoted mother and a wonderful grandmother. She was a faithful Catholic; she had a beautiful voice and sang in the church choir. Suzanne also served as a lector and taught Catechism to the youth. She had a great Scottish spirit and was proud of her Scotch-Irish ancestry. Suzanne enjoyed making greeting cards for her family and friends and scrapbooking. She made many scrapbooks full of beautiful family memories. Suzanne loved lighthouses and had visited 80 out of the 129 Michigan lighthouses with her husband, William. She enjoyed gardening and visiting one of her favorite places, Mackinac Island, where she loved to treat herself to their famous fudge and stay at the Grand Hotel. Suzanne was a joy to know, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Her Family… Suzanne will be missed by her husband, William Eaton; her children, Kevin (Connie) Eaton, Gerald Eaton, Mary Beth (Patrick) Donnelly, Patricia Eaton, Jennifer (Brandon) Russell; sister, Mary Margaret (Sandy) Ross; grandchildren, Caitlyn (Kevin), Connor (Erin), Margaret (Trey), Kelley (Ben), Patricia, William, Madeleine, Kieran, Aidan, Reilly; great-grandchildren, Jameson & Keegan. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Peggy McKendry; and four siblings.
Her Farewell… Suzanne’s family and friends will gather Monday, April 20, 2026, from 4:00PM-8:00PM (7:00PM Rosary) at St. Joseph Catholic Country Church, 6805 Mast Road, Dexter, MI. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 11:00AM (10:00AM gathering), at St. Joseph Catholic Country Church. Fr. Brendan Walsh will serve as Presider. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Alzheimer’s Association.
