Her Legacy… Therese Celine Baeckelandt, 81, passed away May 10, 2025. She was born on September 08, 1943, in Ostend, Belgium to Gaston and Madeleine (Vansteenkiste) Ghesquire. Therese married the love of her life, Edgard Baeckelandt, on December 26, 1964 in Ostend, Belgium. Therese enjoyed to shop and her dog “Beau.” She deeply loved her friends and family and she will be missed by all who knew her.
Her Family… Therese will be missed by her son, Bart (Mary) Baeckelandt; grandchildren, Olivia Baeckelandt and Hope Baeckelandt; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Edgard Baeckelandt; and her parents, Gaston and Madeleine Ghesquire.
Her Farewell… Therese’s family and friends will gather Friday 23, 2025, from 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in South Lyon, Michigan. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM. Fr. Stan Tokarski will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to Susan G. Komen.
