Kaminski, Thomas
Brighton, MI
His Legacy… Thomas Jay Kaminski, 73, passed away February 23, 2025. He was born on January 19, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan to Jay Kaminski and Lorraine (Smith) Kaminski. Tom married the love of his life, Mary Ellen Bush, on January 8, 1991, in Howell, Michigan. Tom owned Kaminski Tax Service, which he built from the ground up and operated for over a decade. Tom was incredibly family oriented and a good provider. He was involved in his children’s and grandchildren’s sports and was very supportive. When his children were growing up, he had an open door policy at his home, meaning any of his children’s friends always had a safe place to land, if needed. Tom was a kid at heart and quick witted. He loved road trips to visit his children and grandchildren, the Huron County Fair, and weekend getaways with his wife, Mary Ellen. Tom enjoyed golfing, cycling, gardening, and reading. He was a Detroit sports fan, and especially loved the Detroit Tigers and also the Indianapolis Colts. Tom was an amazing husband, father and grandfather, and will be deeply missed.
His Family… Tom will be missed by his wife, Mary Ellen Kaminski; his children, Michael (Christina) Whelan, Bridget (Andy) Graham, Erin (Mark) Buda, Catherine (Tom Wiseman) Kaminski; grandchildren, Justin Whelan, Lauren Whelan, Dylan Whelan, Megan Whelan, Aiden Whelan, Finn Graham, Charlie Graham, Frannie Graham, Nolan Buda, Sloan Buda, Griffin Buda; and great-granddaughter, Lani Gembarski.
