His Legacy… Thomas Gerald Kucab, 77, passed away July 30, 2025. He was born on September 9, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan to Thaddeus Kucab and Mary (Grandys) Kucab. Tom married the love of his life, Claudia Vincent, on May 19, 1967, in Jackson County, Michigan.
His Family… Tom will be missed by his wife, Claudia Kucab; his daughter, Pam (Mike) Swanson; siblings, MaryAnn (Gary) Ludwig, A. Robert (Ruth) Kucab, Edward (Maria) Kucab; grandchildren, Patrick Swanson, Kimberly (Cody Wangler) Swanson. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thaddeus and Mary Kucab; brother, Thaddeus Kucab; and nephew, Christopher Kucab.
Tom will be remembered for his wit — the kind of humor that would sneak up on you. He didn’t need to say much to make a point or to make you smile. One well-timed comment was all he needed. Tom loved deeply, though he didn’t always say it in words. Instead, he showed it. In how he provided. In how he listened. In the way he paid attention to the little things. He passed in the comfort of his home, a home that he loved and cared for meticulously. That lawn — it wasn’t just about the grass. It was about care. Attention. Pride. It was one of the many quiet ways Tom expressed himself. We’ll miss the way he made us laugh when we least expected it. We’ll miss the quiet comfort of his presence.
His Farewell… Tom’s family and friends will gather for a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 11:00AM (10AM gathering), at St. Joseph Catholic Country Church, 6805 Mast Road, Dexter, Michigan. Father Brendan Walsh will serve as Presider. Please leave a message of comfort for Tom’s family at 1-877-231-7900, or sign his guestbook at www.borekjennings.com.
