His Legacy… Thomas Stuart Vance, 81, passed away January 15, 2026. He was born on February 22, 1944, in St. Louis, Missouri to Stuart Vance and Evelyn (Woosley) Vance. Thomas married the love of his life, Frances Ryan, on September 29, 1972, in Allen Park, Michigan. Thomas graduated from Geo G. Schafer high school in 1963. Thomas served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967. He spent 58 years in the automotive engineering design and prototype business where he did projects for all major automotive manufacturers as well as the U.S. government. Thomas finally retired for the third time in 2023. Thomas had the best neighbors around and had the pleasure of calling them friends. Thomas was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
His Family… Tom will be missed by his children; Tracy (Craig) Lilley, Terrance (Leah) Vance, and Ty Vance, siblings; Robert (Cheryl) Vance, Norbert (Kathy) Vance, Ann (Rick) Szajgecki, Carol (Michael) Yates; grandchildren; Mitchell, Kyle, and Collin Lilley, Emmett and Isla Vance, Chelsea and Nicole Bascos, Shawn Anderson, great- grandchildren; Luca Lilley, Kaysen and Liliana Stone, Jovani and Everleigh Bascos. Daughter-in-law; Ida Vance. He is preceded in death by his parents; Stuart and Evelyn Vance, brothers; William Vance, Barrett Vance, son; Troy Vance.
