His Legacy… Thomas James Simpson, 60, passed away on April 30, 2026. He was born on May 7, 1965, in Detroit, Michigan to William and Elaine (Jardine) Simpson. Tommy was raised in Southeast Michigan and graduated from Howell High School in 1984. He went on to make the Ann Arbor area his home for almost 40 years. Throughout his life, he was known for his strong work ethic and the many talents he shared with those around him. He worked as a chef, a construction worker, a caterer, and grocer. Music and professional sports were some of the great passions of his life.
In recent years, one of the most meaningful parts of Tommy's life was his faith and involvement with Shalom Life Church. After going through his own recovery, he became passionate about helping others who were seeking recovery and rehabilitation. He devoted much of his time to encouraging, supporting, and guiding people through difficult times. His kindness and willingness to give back left a lasting impact on many lives throughout the Ann Arbor community. Tommy will be remembered for his generous heart, his resilience, his sense of humor, and his genuine care for people. He believed in second chances, in community, and in lifting others up whenever he could. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by his compassion and friendship.
His Family… Tommy will be missed by his brothers; Rick (Janet) Simpson and Steve (Heather) Simpson, his niece and nephew Stephanie and Ricky. He is preceded in death by his parents William and Elaine Simpson, his twin brother Victor Simpson, and his sister Denise Simpson.
His Farewell…Tommy’s family and friends will gather Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM, at Shalom Life Church in Pinckney, Michigan. His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Shalom Life Church in Pinckney, Michigan. Pastor Michael Wentzel will serve as celebrant. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Dawn Farm in Ypsilanti, Michigan or Shalom Life Church.
