Her Legacy… Victoria Jean Farwell, 75, passed away August 23, 2023.  She was born on March 12, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan to William Farwell and Violet Mayer. She will be remembered as a huge U of M football fan who loved watching the games.  Vicki was an animal lover and avid reader, devouring historical fiction and romance novels. She was a woman of very strong opinions but even stronger devotion to her family, especially her grandchildren. She shared her love for her family and others by cooking for them and was famous for her spaghetti sauce.  Cooking Thanksgiving dinner was a labor of love for her family. Vicki also enjoyed watching reality TV especially The First 48.   Vicki served our country in the Navy for 18 months before being honorably discharged. She was very proud of her service to our country. She went on to work for 39 years in the airline industry, starting out at North Central Airlines and following the mergers to Republic, Northwest and Delta Airlines. It was during these years that Vicki retired in March of 2009. Vicki’s cancer was discovered in 2015 and she fought the good fight for 8 years.

Her Family… Vicki is survived by her daughter, Audry (Frank) Bowles; siblings, Barbara (Allan) Hughes, Rosemary (Dan) Carter, William (Cheryl) Farwell; grandchildren, Meredith, Jacqueline and Rebecca Bowles; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Violet Farwell; and her brother, Michael Farwell.

Her Farewell… Vicki’s Community Farewell will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 4:00 PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel with a gathering beginning at 1:00PM until the time of service. In honor of Vicki’s love for U of M football, we ask that you dress for her celebration in maize and blue, wearing your U of M apparel.
