Virgil Ramey, 82, Hamburg resident and business owner, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at home.
Born in Haleyville Alabama,he was the only child of the late Bo and Virgie Ramey.
Virgil is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carolyn (Longnecker) Ramey; daughters, Anita (Bobby) Maynard and Lisa Sizemore;grandchildren, Ross (Aja) Wisser, Jason (Katelyn) Wisser, Brian Churchand Virgil (Katy) Sizemore and great-grandson, Logan Sizemore; as well as a sister-in-law Janet (Arnold) Render and two great-nephews.
Virgil was a 1958 Brighton High School graduate.
He spent his professional life in the insurance industry. He was the owner of the Livingston County Insurance Agency in Hamburg, Michigan.Virgil was involved in numerous local civic and social organizations, and he sat on several boards.Virgil and Carolyn loved to travel and took many lengthy trips in their motorhome, including traveling to California to visit family and friends.
He also eagerly looked forward to spending winters at their vacation home on Lake Harris in Leesburg Florida. Virgil’s Christian faith was very important to him. He was an Elder with The Living Truth Fellowship. A celebration of his life will take place at Borek Jennings Funeral Home Hamburg at 10 a.m. on Friday June 3rd, 7425 M-36 Brighton, Michigan.
