His Legacy… Walter “Walt” Richard Cannon, age 77, passed away September 25, 2020. He was born on April 8, 1943, in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Ralph and Mary (Harden) Cannon. Walt married the love of his life, Josephine Bogart, on September 14, 1973, in Ypsilanti, Michigan. He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, beloved grandfather, cherished great grandfather, and dear brother. Walt was a friendly, and outgoing person, who loved to spend time with people and truly enjoyed getting to know them. He was a very loyal and devoted family man. For over 30 years, Walt worked in the printing industry for McNaughton-Gunn in Saline. In his free time, he enjoyed a variety of outdoors activities, ranging from fishing, to hunting and other sports. Walt was very athletic, he loved playing golf, but his passion was for fastpitch soft ball. He had a stint in the minor leagues before playing in the Ann Arbor fastpitch leagues for years. Walt spent a lot of time helping others, and will be remembered as a source of strength for many.
His Family… Walt leaves behind his wife, Josephine; children, Jo-Lynne “Jodi” (Jonathan Berger) Cannon, James Cannon, Michele “Shelly” Large; grandchildren, Justin, Brian, Meagan, Jeremy, Nicole, Matthew, Jimmy; and great grandchildren, Amelia, Quintin, Connor, Mason, Brian, and Jack. He is also survived by his sister, Theresa Williams. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Mary Cannon, and brother, Thomas Cannon.
His Farewell… Walt's family and friends will be gathering on Saturday, July 17 from 11:00-12:00 noon with a memorial service at 12:00 noon at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. PLEASE NOTE THE TIME CHANGE
