His Legacy… Wayne Lee Poe, 86, passed away peacefully June 26, 2026. He was born on June 6, 1940, in Highland Park, Michigan to Hubert Poe and Imogene (Lemons) Poe. Wayne grew up in Livonia where he lived in his childhood home until moving to Whitmore Lake in 1988. He married Janette (Hopp) on December 12, 2012, in South Lyon, Michigan.

After a dedicated 30 year career with General Motors, Wayne enjoyed retirement pursuing the hobbies he loved. He had a passion for playing Jazz standards on his guitar. He was a master at repairing and restoring vintage cars and motorcycles, bringing new life to cherished pieces of the past. He looked forward every year to going deer hunting with his Dad in the U.P. and really enjoyed just sitting in the woods.

His Family… Wayne will be missed by his wife, Janette Poe; his children: Michelle Poe, Tim (Tara) Poe, his grandchildren: Stephanie, Joe, Michael, Brayden, Liam and Delaney, and his great grandchildren: Drake, Jaxon and Khloe. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Gary and grandson Mark Poe.

Wayne’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to his care team from St. Croix Hospice in Brighton, MI for their devoted care, compassion and support.

His Farewell…Wayne’s family and friends will gather on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at11:00AM, at Rosedale Gardens Presbyterian Church. His memorial service will follow at 12:00PM. Memorial contributions are suggested to Redford Cemetery Association or Rosedale Gardens Presbyterian Church, Livonia, Michigan.
